CCM Show 2024

Short for the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2024, this was the largest, longest and busiest event we’d ever attended. 6 days at the NEC in Birmingham formed the biggest camping show of the season, it was set to give everyone the ideas and inspiration for the season to follow.

We certainly wanted to be a part of that inspiration, so with that in mind, we took a step away from the conventional stand designs of roller banners, cloths over tables and in-your-face point of sale, and injected some colour, some music, and some vehicles you had to look twice at!

By this point you know we always make an effort with the cars on display wherever we go, and this was no exception. We wanted to cover three bases, vans and ‘vanlife’, the conventional car, and the 4x4.

Starting with the van, our friends at Outlandish Campers joined us with their VW ID Buzz. Something you really aren’t seeing many of yet, so in a show full of Transporters, Crafters and Transits, this was a spin on the norm. We combo’d this with the Pioneer XL + Ground Floor Extension, giving a huge amount of space.

The Pioneer XL can sleep four, plus the ID Buzz had been converted to sleep two, and the extension can sleep another two, meaning this whole set-up could sleep eight people, wild!

Outlandish Campers modular conversion in the back of the Buzz certainly got people talking too, as it’s a well-thought-out, space & cost- effective way of converting your van. More details on their stuff can be found HERE.

roof tent on land rover defender 110 rooftent

Centre stage on the Latitude stand was the JVC Kenwood Land Rover 110. Built by Urban as their ‘Spectre’ package, we would quite confidently say this was the most photographed vehicle in the building. With a modifications list as long as your arm, we’ll do a whole breakdown of this in another post!

The Latitude Explorer was mounted on top of its roof cage, giving anyone who climbed up inside a wonderful vista of the rest of Hall 4 at the NEC. And on top was something special from Dave & Santa Cruz. A Santa Cruz Tallboy CC XX SL, their fully carbon, 120mm trail bike mounted to the roof bars of the tent. Some trio of toys!

And yes, the numberplate does say YOLO MUD.

roof tent on a Dacia Duster rooftent

Our small hatchback on stand was this new Dacia Duster. Dressed in their ‘Extreme’ trim level, this beefed up little run-around looked great. Especially with our Pioneer tent on top. And I tell you what, having had this car on loan from Dacia UK (very kind thank you) and the fact that this was a touch over £20k on the road, there’s no wonder they are becoming popular. Plus, it comes with its very set of roof bar built onto the car!

All in all it was a fantastic week, we got to speak so many of you great folk about camping, adventures, cars, trucks, vans and of course roof tents. Thank you to everyone who stopped and and to those who joined the Latitude Family at the event.

See you on the road ✌️
